Utah Head Coach Jim Boylen
Thoughts on the game
"The last three minutes of the first half were huge. We were down five or seven at that time and we took the lead at half time. That was a big spurt for us to come in with a lead at the half and not be climbing up hill. That second half, our defense got better. Our ball pressure improved. We executed against their press, they sped us up but we finished plays at the rim. In the first half, we did not finish plays at the rim. Jiggy was terrific under the 12 minute mark. That was as good as he's been. We made our free throws down the stretch, which has been an issue. It's a big win for us."
On turnovers and Wyoming's press
"We had 11 turnovers against a trapping, pressing team. They forced 18 against New Mexico and 19 against TCU. We worked hard to break the press and we worked hard to not turn it over. I'm proud of our guys for following the game plan."
On the play of Chris Kupets
"He's practiced so well. He's been such a good practice guy. He's learned how to practice well, he's developing in practice. He carried it to the floor. He was locked in the whole game. He was aggressive and he was tough. He was doing a lot of talking out there. He was leading at the huddles. He was really trying to coach our team on the floor. I've been asking him to do that and tonight was a big step forward for him as a leader on the floor. When you take yourself out of it and play for the team, to try and be there for the team, good things happen to you. Good things happened for him tonight because he was very selfless."
On David Foster's game
"He impacted the game at the defensive end and like the jump-hooks he threw. He's a young, developing guy and it was a big game for him. To play 33 minutes is a lot but he hung in there pretty good. He didn't practice Monday and did practice yesterday. His legs were pretty fresh."
On making free throws
"That's what we've needed to do. We got to the line and we made them which is what you need to do to win a game. I thought we did a great job of that. We've been working on free throws and talking about free throws a lot. You have to be careful not to beat your guys up too much on missing free throws. We shot about 10 minutes of free throws today and about 10 yesterday so we're thankful [it helped tonight]."
On playing without Clyburn
"I was proud of our group to win that game without him down the stretch. He's been a big player for us, making big shots and some big plays and free throws. It's a heck of win for us without him after the 10-minute mark [second half]. I'm proud of this group. We've practiced well. We've hung in there and everybody knows it's been difficult when you're in a losing streak. But these guys are resilient and they care. I'm really happy for them."
Junior center David Foster
"We competed tonight more than anything. It was back-and-forth the whole game. We were able to make defensive stops and execute. Unfortunately, I didn't make my free throws at the end but the rest of the team did."
"Our confidence is such a huge key to the game. To be able to stop that losing streak helps a lot. We just have to keep climbing because we snapped our last streak against Wyoming but then we fell back after that, so we just can't repeat history."
On his career-high 13 rebounds
I have a size advantage. I think being smarter with knowing where the ball is going to be and being at the right time and right place."
Junior guard Chris Kupets
"I've been more aggressive these last two games, trying to do what I can to help us win."
On success driving the ball
"Wyoming is a trapping team so if you beat the trap then it's wide open for you to pass it or it to the rim or get fouled. We have such great players on our team that we were able to get to the basket, finish it and get fouled."
Wyoming Head Coach Fred Langley
"It's hard to play through a game like this when things don't necessarily go your way. I thought [Desmar] Jackson played hard, but we need to do a better job to stop the ball."
On his team's effort
"We had a great effort, but then we didn't make our shots and we missed assignments. I thought our effort was great, I mean Joe [Hudson] hit his head and Amath [M'Baye] split his lip diving on the floor. We just need to execute a little better."
