"These games will hurt more than a 20-point loss. This is teaching us how to win and how much giving your all at free throws at practice or going up strong when we're guarded and making the way up and getting it in one. This hurts, it sucks, but we're young and we have to learn. "
"You cry tonight and come with a positive attitude tomorrow. It's just over, it's done with. We can't bring it back. Wish I could, but we can't. We just have to strive for it in practice. It starts in practice, then warm ups, in every possession, and in every game. Start with one player at a time, and we all have to come together from youngest to oldest, from the least experienced to the most experienced. We all have to get on the same page and want the same thing. If we don't all want the same thing, then we're not going to get the same answers."
"They are a big athletic team. My thought process was to not let them get a chance to block you or get their hands on it but I could have rushed a little bit. It is what it is."
"Coach has mentioned to us a lot lately that we've been playing pretty well defensively and now we have to be in the offensive end as well. For our team, we can have a slew of scorers and we just need to step up. We can't come out in a game and not have that same spirit."
"There are six games left now in the season so we have to play the game. We have to make it happen. "
Interim Head Coach Anthony Levrets
"They are a very talented team. They have two really good senior posts that play like seniors that don't have a lot of basketball left. We were unable to match that and ultimately that's what cost us the game."
"At the end, it was part of being a young team but that's not an excuse anymore. We didn't execute a couple times down the stretch, things we executed really well earlier in the game. Two of the possessions really cost us."
"It's disappointing losing a league game at home. We had a ten-point lead twice. It's really just frustrating. This is the second time this has happened to us, how in the first half we had a lot of opportunities that we missed. But it was very much like Colorado State where we missed opportunities at the offensive end by not finishing plays then gave up way too many second shots and had to guard for too long in possessions. As the game goes on, it wears on you."
"Practice. This season is a marathon. There are tons of ups and tons of downs. Anyone who has been through a season before knows that this deal is an emotional roller coaster. Losses have to hurt but then they have to go away. You have to learn the lessons. The feeling of the loss has to go away, the feeling sorry for yourself, because that's what it feels like when you lose. But you have to get rid of that. And then you have to come to practice. We have two days to get ready for our next game. "
