Utah earned its fourth MWC Tournament title with the win over TCU. The Utes also won titles in 2000, 2006 and 2009. Utah is 4-3 overall in the finals, and 22-8 all-time in the tournament.
Utah, which is hosting the women's NCAA Tournament first and second rounds, will play at home. The seeding will be announced on Monday evening's selection show.
Utah is the lowest seed (No. 5) ever to win the MWC Tournament.
It was Utah's third-consecutive MWC Tournament championship game appearance. The Utes beat San Diego State (63-58) in 2009 and fell in overtime to the Aztecs last year, 70-60.
Michelle Plouffe had her ninth double-double of the year in the win (24 points, 11 rebounds). It was her seventh game with over 20 points this year.
Michelle Plouffe, Iwalani Rodrigues and Janita Badon were all named to the MWC Tournament all-tournament team. Badon was selected as the MVP after averaging 13 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
Three players averaged double figure scoring for the tournament - Badon, Plouffe (14.3) and Rodrigues (13.8).
