AUSTIN, Texas -- Hannah Caron, a junior at the University of Utah, finished up her second of three events at the 2011 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday.
In the 100 fly, Caron swam the second fastest time in her life in the preliminary round to earn 30th place (53.49).
Nationally, Caron was ranked 31st in the 100 fly coming into the competition this weekend.
Earning the MWC title in the 100 fly at the MWC Championships is what secured Caron's spot at the NCAA championships. She currently holds the second-fastest time in the event in school history.
Caron will compete in the 200 fly on Saturday at 12 p.m. CT at the Jamail Texas Swimming Center to complete her first experience at the 2011 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.
