Kron Posts 400 IM PR at World Championships

ISTANBUL, Turkey - University of Utah swimming and diving freshman Kristian Kron was honored with the opportunity to compete for his native country, Sweden, at the World Championships last weekend in Istanbul, Turkey.
Last Thursday, Kron touched in a personal-best time of 4:18.17 in the 400 IM for 27th place.
"The first 200 meters felt good and I wanted to go out fast to feel the race out," said Kron. "I ended up getting way too tired in the end."
Kron competed in his final and best event on Sunday, the 200 back, and tied for 20th with a time of 1:55.83.
Kron earned his competition spot earlier on November at the Swedish National Championships where he won the 200 back in a meet-record time of 1:54.70.
Kron will return to Utah to compete with the Utes for the remainder of the season.
