Auburn, Ala. - The NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships commenced on Thursday at James E. Martin Aquatics Center. Junior Traycie Swartz represented the Utes in the 50 free.
Swartz earned a time of 22.55 to take 23 out of 67 in NCAA competition. Her time was just .10 shy of her school-record of 22.45, touched in at the 2012 Pac-12 Championships.
Liv Jensen of Cal took first in the event (21.48), while Margo Geer of Arizona was second (21.64) and Auburn's Ariann Vanderpool-Wallce touched in third (21.65).
Action will continue tomorrow with sessions at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. central time. Swartz will appear in the 100 back, her second of three events at the championships.
