Utah vs. BYU Game Notes Game 3 ![]()
SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team continues its midweek series against BYU on Tuesday, April 17, playing its in-state rival for the third time this season in Provo at 6:00 p.m. MT.
BYU has won both of the first two meetings. In the first game, the Utes made five errors allowing BYU four unearned runs in a 9-8 loss. Utah lost a heartbreaker in game two, with BYU scoring five runs in the top of the ninth inning en-route to a 9-6 loss.
The Utes (9-25) took one of three over the weekend against Washington State, with a 4-3 extra-inning win in game two. James Brooks hit the game-winning home run in the top of the 10th inning.
The Cougars (17-13) won three of four from Seattle over the weekend.
Utah will throw right-handed sophomore Ben Mordini, while BYU will start right-hander Chris Capper.
