Plouffe Leads Utes: Senior forward Michelle Plouffe (Edmonton, Alberta) knocked down five of her last seven shots to finish with 15 points on Nov. 8 against Denver. Plouffe went 7-for-13 against the Pioneers and just missed a double-double as she collected nine rebounds to go with four assists.
Plouffe In the Utah Record Books: Plouffe is second in career blocks (127) and in career defensive rebounds (659) and is just 15 away from tying Utah's Director of Community Relations, Kim (Smith) Gaucher, who had 674 from 2002 through 2006. Plouffe is fourth in rebounding average (8.3), and fifth in scoring average (15.1). Plouffe is already sixth in Utah history with 874 career rebounds and needs just three more rebounds to tie Sandy Kovach (877 from 1979-83) for fifth place in school history. Plouffe is also seventh in school history in field goals attempted (1,415), ninth in 3-point field goal attempts (394) and career scoring (1,581). Winning: Utah is listed 10th in the `All-Time By Percentage' rankings of the NCAA Division I Winningest Teams section of the 2013-14 Division I Women's Basketball Record Book. The Utes own an all-time record of 826-345 (.705).
Home in the Huntsman: Utah's home, the Jon M. Huntsman Center, continues to provide one of the biggest home-court advantages in NCAA Division I Women's Basketball.
Since the program's first season in 1975-76, the Utes have gone 453-74 on their home floor for a 85.96% winning percentage, which ranks ninth among the nation's toughest places to play.
Freebies: The Utes were 11-of-12 from the free throw line in the season opener against Denver. Potter was a perfect 6-for-6, while Malia Nawahine was 3-for-4.
