OJAI, Calif. - The 55th-ranked University of Utah women's tennis team saw junior Sarah Pham advance to the quarterfinals of the singles championship competition Thursday at Ojai Valley Athletic Club. Pham is the only unseeded player to advance at the tournament.
After capturing wins in the round of 32, Pham and fellow Ute sophomore Tereza Bekerova both advanced to the round of 16. Bekerova put in a commendable effort against Cal's Klara Fabikova, but was unable to come up with a victory. Pham is scheduled to play third-seeded Krista Hardebeck of Stanford Friday at 12 p.m. PT.
The quarterfinal round of the singles championship will begin 11 a.m. PT, while the doubles action will begin Friday at 3 p.m. PT..
