NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Utah volleyball team matched its second best winning streak to start a season, moving to 8-0 following a sweep over Georgia Tech (28-26, 25-17, 25-18) Saturday morning at Allen Arena in Nashville, Tenn.
The Utes have now won six straight matches in straight sets and has seven sweeps overall in the team's current eight-match winning streak. Utah will look to build on both streaks later this evening when the Utes closeout the Libscomb Invitational against the Lady Bisons.
Four Utah players had nine kills or more in the win with senior
Bailey Bateman leading the way with 11 kills and a .562 hitting percentage in the match. Senior
Chelsey Schofield-Olsen and freshman
Eliza Katoa added 10 kills in the match and senior
Shelby Dalton tallied nine kills on the morning as well.

Kalee Kirby notched her first double-double of the season with 25 kills and 10 digs, while both Dalton and fellow senior
Lea Adolph recorded a match-high 12 digs for the Utes.
Adolph tallied a season-high three service aces and junior
Kendall Cygan had 17 assists on the day.
Utah outhit the Yellow Jackets .340 to .187 and notched 49 kills to GT's 36 kills in the match. Schofield-Olsen led the charge at the net with seven total blocks (two solo) for the Utes, while the team finished the match with 8.5 total blocks as a team. Meanwhile, GT managed to net just 2.0 total blocks as a team.
Annika Van Gunst led GT with 11 kills in the match and London Ackermann added a team-high 12 digs.
