UP NEXT
The University of Utah diving teams will send four divers to the UCLA Diving Invitational, which is set to take place this Saturday-Monday, Jan. 14-16 at the Spieker Aquatics Center in Los Angeles, Calif. The meet will begin at 8:30 a.m. (PT) on Saturday.
Sophomore Amanda Casillas, freshman Lauren Hall and senior Jasmine Matkovic will be competing for the women, while junior Jacob Crayne will compete for the men.
COMPETING TEAMS
There will be 11 teams that will be participating in the diving competition this weekend. Along with Utah, other competing teams include Cal, USC, CSU Bakersfield, Hawaii, Cal Poly, host UCLA, UC Davis, SDSU, Fresno State and SJSU.
PREVIOUS MEETING
Last season at the Invitational, Jacob Crayne took the top spot on the one-meter dives with a score of 718.00. Crayne also took second on both the three-meter (691.10) and platform (622.95).
LAST TIME OUT
All four divers are coming off a very successful meet at Arizona State. Amanda Casillas (274.20), Jasmine Matkovic (252.45) and Lauren Hall (182.25) each recorded personal bests in the platform event. Casillas took second-place in the event, while Matkovic and Hall followed in third and fourth-place, respectively. Casillas took third in the one-meter (279.53), while Hall (258.60) took fourth and Matkovic (240.08) finished in fifth-place in the event.
Crayne came home with two wins from the meet. He took first on platform with a personal best score of 379.88 and first in the one-meter event (355.35) as well.

"We have another big invite meet at UCLA coming up. Coming off the diver's great performance at ASU, I think we are in store for some great things here in the final two months of the season. Jake won the one-meter event at this meet last year and hopefully, he can defend that title and add a platform or three-meter title to it as well."
UP NEXT
Both swimming and diving squads will return to action in its first home meet of the 2015 portion of the season, hosting Denver in non-conference action on Friday, Jan. 23. The meet will take place inside Ute Natatorium and is set to get underway at 4 p.m.
