SALT LAKE CITY- The Utah diving team will be competing in the Zone E Championships hoping to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Competition is set to begin this Monday, March 9 through this Wednesday, March 11 in Colorado Springs, Colo. at the Cadet Natatorium.
There will be eight NCAA qualifying spots up for grabs for both the men and women. The qualifiers will be announced on Wednesday.
Junior Jacob Crayne, sophomore Amanda Casillas, freshman Lauren Hall and senior Jasmine Matkovic will be competing this week.
Last year, Crayne took eighth on the three-meter event with 707.30 points and took seventh on the one-meter event with 704.35. At the 2015 Pac-12 Championships, Crayne took to the podium in the one-meter with 383.75 points. He also broke the school record of 412.65 on the three-meter event, which was set in 2005 by Sterling Richards. He came away with a score of 438.95.
Casillas finished 34th (231.70) on the one-meter event and 24th on the three-meter event (265.75) last year. On platform, she took 10th with 460.74.
Matkovic placed in the top-10 on the platform event at the 2015 Pac-12 championships with a total score of 246.75. Lauren Hall took 24th with a total score of 169.90.

Competition begins on Monday with women's three-meter prelims at 11 a.m. with finals at 2 p.m. The men's one-meter prelims begin at 5 p.m. with the finals at 6:45 p.m.
