AUSTIN, Texas - Utah's Megan Glasmann finished 16th in the javelin to close out the NCAA West Preliminary for the Ute track and field team.
Glasmann had a toss of 150'4" (45.83 meters) in the event. She is Utah's school-record holder in the javelin.
The NCAA West Preliminary closes out the season for the Utah track team. Previously at the meet Ilse Kaaja finished 17th in the hammer throw, Sarah Feeny was 32nd in the 1,500 and Rebekah Winterton finished 45th in the 10,000, all on Thursday.
"Certainly we were hoping for more, but it just wasn't in the cards this weekend," Utah head coach Kyle Kepler said. "This team is very young and they made some great individual improvements throughout the season. However, we have to continue to get better moving forward. We don't want to just get to the first round of the NCAA meet and have it end.
"We will look at everything during the offseason and not be afraid make changes where they are needed in addition to building on all the improvements we made, particularly with the younger gals," Kepler continued. "We have great potential, but we are going to have to work harder as athletes and coaches than ever before to fully realize it and achieve the success we all know we are capable of."
