UTAH vs. WASHINGTON STATE Post Game Notes
Utah 88, Washington State 47
• Utah won its fifth straight game at home on the season and improved to 19-7 overall, while moving to 8-5 in Pac-12 play.
• The Utes are now 13-1 at home on the year and pushed its record to 47-4 over the past 51 games played at the Huntsman Center since the 2013-14 season.
• The Utes earned the season sweep over WSU with the win on Sunday. Utah outscored the Cougars 180-118 in the two-game span. Utah has now won five straight games against the Cougars and seven of the past nine.
• Utah limited WSU to just .308 percent shooting from the field. The Cougars were just 15-of-49 from the field - a new season low for field goals made for an opposing team against the Utes this season.
• WSU's 47 points are the least amount of points an opposing team has scored on the Utes this season. It is the first time that the Utes have limited an opposing Pac-12 team to 50-points ore less since holding Arizona to just 41 points back on Feb. 26, 2015.
• Utah shot 50 percent or better in both halves (1st, 50% - 2nd, 55.9%) for the seventh time this season.
• Utah out-rebounded the Cougars 38-30. The Utes tallied nine offensive boards compared to WSU's eight offensive rebounds and outscored the Cougars 17-8 in second chance points.
• The Utes outscored the Cougars 50-10 in points in the paint. The Cougars were held to just two points in the paint in the first half.
• Utah forced 20 WSU turnovers and managed to score 26 points off those miscues. The Utes tied a season-low with just eight turnovers in the game.
• Utah tallied a season-high 11 steals in the game. It was the first time that Utah recorded 10 steals or more in a game since notching 10 steals against the Cougars last season (Jan. 21, 2015).
• Utah notched 21 assists in the game, led by Isaiah Wright's five assists off the bench. The Utes have tallied 20-plus assists in back-to-back games and for the seventh time this season.
• 10 of Utah's 11 players that entered the game had at least two points.
• Sophomore Jakob Poeltl led Utah in scoring with a game-high 25 points. Poeltl has tallied 20-points or more in two straight games and in six of his past seven contests.
• Poeltl finished the contest with a game-high 10 rebounds en route to his 10th double-double of the season.
• Four Utah players scored in double figures on Sunday. The Utes are now 12-0 on the season when at least 10 players score 10 points or more.
UP NEXT
Utah will make its final road trip of the regular season next week, traveling to Los Angeles to take on UCLA (Feb. 18) and USC (Feb. 21).
