SALT LAKE CITY - Utah women's swimming and diving will compete in the NCAA Women's Championships this Wednesday, March 16 through Saturday, March 19 at the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta. Juniors Stina Colleou and Amanda Casillas, as well as freshman Genevieve Robertson, will represent the Utes.
Colleou and Robertson will be swimming in the 100 and 200 breast. Colleou qualified with a time of 2:09.55, which she recorded at the Pac-12 Championships.She ranks among the top 25 in the NCAA and the top five in the Pac-12. She has put up 14 top-five finishes this season and has wins in the 100 and 200 breast.
At last year's NCAA Championships, Colleou finished 40th in the 100 breast with a time of 1:01.21. She took 26th in the 200 breast, touching in at 2:10.82.
Robertson's time of 2:10.60 in the 200m is the 36th in the NCAA and the eighth-fastest mark in the Pac-12. She has recorded three wins in the 200 breast and one in the 100 breast this season, along with 12 top-five finishes.
Casillas, the lone diver, qualified on both the three-meter and platform event. She took seventh on platform with a total score of 519.20 at NCAA Zones. She was 12th on the three-meter (575.90).
This will be Colleou's third appearance at the NCAA Championships while Casillas and Robertson are headed there for the first time.
ESPN3.com will stream live finals sessions on Friday and Saturday. Wednesday's evening session, both of Thursday's sessions, and the morning sessions on Friday and Saturday, will be streamed live on NCAA.com.
