Utes one of three Pac-12 schools to have both teams honored
SALT LAKE CITY -Â Both Utah Swimming and Diving squads have been selected as Scholar All-America Teams by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.
The Utah women had a 3.39 grade point average during the fall semester, ranking third in the Pac-12. This is the eighth-straight semester that the Utes have earned a team academic award. Stanford led the way for Pac-12 schools with a 3.59 team GPA.
The Utah men's team had a 3.07 GPA during the fall semester, the second-best GPA in the Pac-12. Stanford topped the Pac-12 with a 3.52 team GPA.
A total of 638 swimming and diving teams, representing 394 colleges and universities, were named CSCAA Scholar All-America teams. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester and again in the spring to recognize teams achieving a 3.0 in the semester.
Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America is the oldest professional organization of college coaches in America. The CSCAA is dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
