LOS ANGELES – Paul Ungur turned in the highlight performance for the Utah contingent at today's USA College Challenge.
The senior from Romania swam a 21.0 backstroke split in the 200 medley relay to lead the Pac-12 to a win in the event. The Utah record holder in the 100 back then swam the second-fastest time for a Pac-12 student-athlete in that event (46.24).
Austin Phillips also took part in a pair of events. The junior placed fourth among Pac-12 competitors in an event he holds the Utah school record in, the 200 free, with a time of 1:39.64. He then suited up for the 400 free relay with his quartet finishing fourth.
Jack Burton, another Utah school record holder taking part in one of his signature events, was fourth among Pac-12 swimmer in the 100 breast with a time of 55.24.
Genevieve Robertson finished in the same spot during the 100 breast on the women's side with a 1:01.97.
The Utes are back in the pool this upcoming weekend with meets at ASU on Friday at 5 p.m. and at Arizona on Saturday at noon.
