Utes Continue to Make History at Art Adamson

200 medley relay team and Jordan Anderson set new school marks

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – More Utah records continued to fall as the second evening of the Art Adamson Invitational came to a close on Friday with the men in second place and the women in sixth.
 
Picking up where they left off last night, the Utes were able to break another relay record in the 200 medley. Paul Ungur, Jack Burton, Ben Scott and Rodolfo Moreira took second overall with a NCAA provisional time of 1:24.80. Felix Chiun, Liam O'Haimhirgin, Rahiti De Vos and Austin Phillips then won the 800 free relay with a time of 6:29.98
 
In an individual display of brilliance, Jordan Anderson broke her own school mark in the 400 IM with a NCAA "B" cut time of 4:11.73. She finished 12th overall in the event.
 
Ungur continued his outstanding form by winning the 100 back with a NCAA "B" cut time of 46.04. Daniel McArthur placed fifth with another NCAA "B" cut mark of 47.99
 
O'Haimhirgin won another event for the Utes, the 200 free, in 1:35.47. It was the fourth-fastest mark in Utah history and he nudged out fellow Ute Phillips (1:36.14) with both swimmers earning NCAA "B" cut times. De Vos was seventh after swimming 1:39.16 in the prelims.
 
Scott placed second in the prelims of the 100 fly with a time of 47.17, the third-fastest mark in Utah history. With a NCAA "B" cut in his back pocket, he placed fourth in the final this evening. Burton, the school record holder in the 100 breast, placed fourth in the event this evening with a NCAA "B" cut time of 53.76                
 
Emma Broome turned in a solid performance as she captured the consolation final of the 100 back. Earlier in the day, she reached the NCAA "B" cut mark with the third-fastest time in Utah history (54.18). Sarah Lott also hit the NCAA "B" cut with a 54.23 in the morning session, the fourth-fastest time in Utah history, and finished 11th overall.
 
In the 200 medley relay, Sarah Lott, Genevieve Robertson, Gillian St. John and Dorien Butter placed third overall with a time of 1:39.45. Robertson was also 11th overall in the 100 breast with a NCAA "B" cut time of 1:01.47
 
Ethan Dillard finished fourth in the 400 IM with a NCAA "B" cut time of 3:53.00. He was joined in the finals by Cole Avery and Brody Lewis, who finished sixth and seventh respectively.
 
Darby Wayner was 15th in the 100 fly after swimming a 54.88 in the morning prelims and Mandy Gebhart placed 20th in the 200 free after a time of 1:49.47 during the prelims. To cap the evening, the 800 free relay contingent of Lott, Butter, Ianire Casarin and Gebhart finished eighth in 7:20.88
 
On the boards, Clare Greenlow reached the final of the 1-meter, finishing eighth overall. Meanwhile, Jenner Pennock narrowly missed out on returning this evening, but finished ninth overall for the men.
 
The third and final day of competition will begin tomorrow with preliminary action at 9:30 a.m. and can be seen on SEC Network Plus.
