This Week in Utah Gymnastics
The No. 5 Ute gymnasts (8-1, 3-1 Pac-12) go to Tempe, Ariz., for a Saturday, Feb. 25 contest with Arizona State (2-7, 0-4 Pac-12) in the Wells Fargo Arena. The meet starts at 5 p.m. MST and will be televised on the Pac-12 Network. Live text commentary and scores can be found at UtahUtes.com.

In the Rankings
Utah's position in the national rankings remained unchanged at No. 5 with the move to Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) as the basis for the order. This week's top five are: Oklahoma (197.890 RQS), LSU (197.655), Florida (197.435), Alabama (197.085) and Utah (196.965). The RQS takes the six best scores—three which must be road scores—drops the high and averages the remaining five scores.
MyKayla Skinner remains No. 2 in the all-around (39.580 RQS) and is No. 4 on floor (9.935), No. 7 on vault (9.90), No. 10 on beam (9.880) and No. 15 on bars (9.870).

Skinner was named the Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week after winning the all-around and vault and tying for first on floor in Utah's victory over No. 5 UCLA last Saturday. Skinner has won a school single-season record five Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week awards (including the first four meets of the season) is a three-time Pac-12 Freshman of the Week … Ute individual event/all-around winners:

This week's meet in Tempe will be a homecoming for Ute freshman
MyKayla Skinner (Gilbert, Ariz.) and sophomore
Kari Lee (Peoria, Ariz.). Skinner trained at Desert Lights Gymnastics during her club career and was coached by Lisa and John Spini—the latter after his retirement from Arizona State, where he was the head coach for 34 years … Utah and ASU did not meet in the regular season in 2016. The Utes beat the Sun Devils at the 2016 Pac-12 Championship … The last time the Utes competed at ASU (Feb. 1, 2014), they made then head coach Greg Marsden the first 1,000-win coach in college gymnastics history. Marsden retired after the 2015 NCAA Championships ... Utah is averaging 15,166 fans to its home meets, including a capacity crowd of 15,558 against UCLA on Feb. 18.
