TEMPE, Ariz. - The Utah men's golf team returns to action this Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 18-19, competing at the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational, which will be held at ASU's Karsten Golf Course.
A total of 15 teams will compete in the 54-hole event. Along with Utah and tournament host ASU, Arizona, Cal Poly, California, Colorado State, Hawaii, Iowa State, Nevada, San Diego, San Francisco, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UNLV and Washington will participate in the tournament.
Karsten Golf Course will play at par-71 and 7,002 yards for the event. Participating schools will play 36 holes on Saturday followed by 18 holes on Sunday. Tee times are at 7:30 on Saturday (shotgun) and 7:30 off hole 1 and 8 a.m. off hole 10 on Sunday. Admission is free.
This marks the 11th ASU Thunderbird Invitational the Utes have competed in overall, but the first since 2005-06. Utah has posted seven top-five finishes, including a second-place finish back in 1997-98.
