Three Utes Close Competition at NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS - Utah women's swimming and diving concluded its season today at the NCAA Women's Championships. Seniors Stina Colleou and Amanda Casillas, as well as sophomore Genevieve Robertson all took part in their second event today.

Casillas, the lone diver making her second appearance at the NCAA's, was 33rd on the platform with a total score of 218.00. The senior took 27th in the event at last year's NCAA Championships.

"Amanda closed out her great career today and I couldn't be more proud to be her coach," said Utah head diving coach Richard Marschner. "She accomplished so much throughout her career and was a big part in establishing Utah as a national power in diving. We'll miss her on the team."

Robertson took 34th in the 200 breast. She touched in at 2:11.68, improving her time from last year's NCAA Championships (2:11.79). She was sixth in Pac-12 competition.

During the season, she racked up three victories in the event and had the ninth fastest time in the Pac-12 (2:10.33).

Colleou, competing for her fourth time at the NCAA Championships, finished 55th overall in the 200 breast. She came away with a time of 2:13.36.

She took 14th in this event at the European Championships this past summer representing her home country of Norway.

"I'm proud of the way our student athletes competed this week," said head coach Joe Dykstra. "Two of these young women have had great careers and we are thankful for what they have given this program."
