Salt Lake City--Â University of Utah dropped a tough loss to the No. 36 Washington Huskies, 4-0, in its first Pac-12 Conference match at home.
In doubles play, the Utes took two tough losses to drop the doubles point.
Alexia Petrovic and
Luisa Gerstner Da Rosa fell in a 6-1 decision to Stacey Fung and Kenafi Hance in the No. 2 spot and
Margo Pletcher and
Brianna Turley lost to Miki Kobayashi and Nour Abbes in the No. 1 spot, 6-3.
In singles play, the Huskies gained momentum to seal the win with victories in the No. 1, No. 4, and No. 5 spots.
Margo Pletcher and
Taylor Calton each took difficult losses in two sets while
Jena Cheng fought back from a first set loss to win the second set, but Alexis Prokopuik clinched the win with a  6-2, 4-6, 6-3 victory.
The Utes will be back at the Eccles Tennis Center for a doubleheader on Sunday. They face Washington State at 11 a.m. and the Weber State Wildcats at 4 p.m.
