Utah Beach Volleyball Closes Out Competition in Tucson

Four Utes compete in Pairs Championships
TUCSON, Ariz. – Representing the Utah beach volleyball team, two pairs of Utes competed on Friday in the Pac-12 Pairs Championships. Junior Adora Anae and freshman Dani Barton competed as the No. 9-seed, while junior Carly Trueman and freshman Bailey Choy partnered as the No. 17-seed in Tucson, Ariz.

Trueman and Choy faced the No. 16-seeded Grace Campbell and Nicole Anderson from California to open tournament play. The Utes dropped the first set 21-10, but would battle in the second set, ultimately falling 22-20.

Anae and Barton matched up against No. 8-seeded Elisa Zappia and Torrey Van Winden from UCLA. Anae and Barton took the first set 21-13, but the Bruins forced a third set after taking the second set 21-18. The Utes fell 15-11 in the third set to close out the inaugural season for the beach volleyball team.Â
