"We are very excited to have Ianire join our program this fall," Dykstra added. "She is a tremendously gifted swimmer capable of contributing for us in the 50, 100 and 200 frees, on relays, and possibly even a bit in breaststroke and IM events.  She seemed a great natural fit with our team and we could not be happier about her decision to swim with the Utes!"
A transfer from Miami, Casarin joined the Hurricanes in the spring of 2016 and posted the fifth-fastest 200 free in program history (1:47.37) at the ACC Swimming & Diving Championships. She also posted a 100 free time of 50.41 seconds at the ACC Championships, eighth-best in school history and capped the event by joining in the 800 free relay team that shattered the school record with a time of 7:11.76. Casarin also earned a NCAA "B" cut with her performance in the 200 fly
Moreira hails from Sao Paulo, Brazil and will be an incoming freshman in the fall for Utah.
"Rodolfo is one of the top young sprint prospects in the world," Dykstra added. "There are not a lot of guys that are able to swim a long course 50 free in fewer than 23 seconds as 17-year olds, but that is the speed that he will bring to our program. He will be competing for Brazil's Junior World Championships team this August and will be a mainstay on our sprint relays for the next four years."
