BOZEMAN, Mont. – In her Utah skiing debut,
Ann-Kathrin Breuning finished second in the women's giant slalom RMISA qualifier on Saturday to lead the Ute ski team at Big Sky Resort in Bozeman, Mont.
Breuning, who is in her first season at Utah after previously skiing three seasons at Westminster, has eight collegiate podium finishes.
Julie Mohagen finished 12
th for the women while
Sabine Krautgasser placed 23
rd.
In the men's race,
Sam Dupratt finished seventh to lead the Utes. In their Utah debuts, Linus Walch placed 13
th while Huston Philip finished 18
th.
Ty Sprock finished 19
th with
Martin Grasic in 21
st.
The RMISA alpine qualifier races do not count towards any team scoring and are used as an extra opportunity for skiers to earn qualification points for the NCAA Championships at the end of the season.
The alpine teams continue at Big Sky as the Montana State Invitational begins on Sunday, Jan. 7, with the men's and women's giant slalom races.
