Second Round Results

Kyler Dunkle heads into final round tied for fourth place.

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – The Utah men's golf team dropped one spot in the standings at the Saint Mary's Invitational following Tuesday's second round of play to currently be in a tie for 11^th place at the three-day event in Pebble Beach, Calif.

Utah posted a second-round score of 7-over par (291), two strokes better than Monday's first round, to have a combined score for the event at 16-over par (584) at the par-71, 6,945-yard Poppy Hills Golf Course.

Shining for the Utes on Tuesday, Kyler Dunkle carded his fifth round in the 60's on the season after going 3-under par (68) to sit at a combined score of 3-under par (139) following two rounds of play. Dunkle notched eight straight pars on the front nine holes and only committed one bogey on the day. Dunkle is tied for fourth place heading into the final round of the tournament.

Jordan Costello also sits inside the top-25 golfers following the second round after posting 1-over par (72) on day two of the event. Costello is tied for 23^rd overall with a two-day score of 1-over par (143).

"Kyler was great today! He is playing really good golf and it is fun to see," said head coach Garrett Clegg. "Jordan is doing a great job battling through the rounds. I'm thrilled with his performance so far as well."

Axel Einarsson and Mitchell Schow are tied for 73rd place with combined scores of 10-over par (152) after two rounds of play. Einarsson shot 3-over (74) on the day, while Schow went 6-over (77). Blake Tomlinson shot 7-over par (78) in the second round and is tied for 86^th place with a combined score of 12-over par (154).

Competing in the event as an individual, Colton Tanner sits in 101^st place with a combined score of 18-over par (160) after going 13-over (84) on Tuesday.

BYU still has control at the top of the 18-team leaderboard and heads into Wednesday with a score of 19-under par. Pepperdine (-5) is in second place, Arizona (-3) is in third place, USC (-2) follows in fourth, while Oregon (-1) closed out the top-five teams following the second round.

The Utes will wrap up the fall schedule on Wednesday with the final round of the Saint Mary's Invitational beginning with tee times at 7:30 a.m. PT off the No. 1 and 10 tees. Live scoring can be found at GolfStat.com.
