We're 50 days away from the start of our inaugural season and we'll be counting down the days and introducing you to the players over the next several weeks leading up to game one. Today we start with No. 50, Dominic Mata, a freshman from Aurora, Colo., who attended Regis Jesuit High School.
What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
My favorite lacrosse memory is winning the 2018 Colorado state lacrosse championship my senior year.
What is your favorite sport besides lacrosse?
My favorite sport besides lacrosse is college football.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time I like to enjoy the outdoors and read.
Why did you choose Utah? What is the best thing about Utah?
I chose Utah because it was the best place for me to succeed not only for athletics, but more importantly in academics. The best thing about Utah is that it is a beautiful place with plenty to do outdoors, and the people here are also top of the line.
What is your major and what do you want to do after you graduate?
My major is kinesiology pre-med, and after college I want to be a pediatric oncologist.
If you could invite three people, dead or alive, to a dinner party, who would they be?
I would invite Elvis Presley, Garth Brooks, and Sam Elliott to a dinner party if I could.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
The best piece of advice I have ever received is "In every situation in life always be yourself."
