SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Nordic skiers
Martin Bergström and
Guro Jordheim have been named the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association men's and women's Nordic MVP's, announced Saturday evening by the conference.
The MVPs are presented to the regular-season NCAA points winners in each discipline.
Bergström led all men's Nordic skiers with four wins during the regular season. He tied for the league lead with seven podium finishes on the year. Bergström only finished out of the top four once during the year. The defending NCAA freestyle and classic champion, Bergström has six career victories and 14 career podium finishes over two seasons with the Utes.
Jordheim led all RMISA skiers with five regular season wins in women's Nordic and her eight podiums was also a league high. She has only finished outside of the top five once during the year. A two-time All-American in her second year at Utah, Jordheim has six career wins and 12 career podium finishes.
Also notable is
Ann-Kathrin Breuning, who finished second in the women's alpine MVP standings. Breuning earned two podium and six top-five finishes during the season. She is competing with Utah this season after transferring from Westminster and has three collegiate wins and nine podiums.
