 Game Notes: fill in here
Utah Vault Notes: That wasn't one of Missy Reinstadtler's better vaults.
She had a pretty big step back on her landing.
I'm not sure why Kari Lee got hit so hard. I thought it was a good vault.
She had a small slide on her dismount, but nothing major.
I remain puzzled on the scoring. That was a big vault by Tiffani Lewis.
Nice amplitude and stuck landing. Kim Tessen has not been able to practice much due to the bum
shoulder that kept her out of the bar lineup today. I think it showed
a little in that vault and her knee buckled on the landing. MaKenna Merrell-Giles got a lot of air and good distance. Her
deduction came on the landing. MyKayla Skinner was scored well but would have done
better if she had completely stuck her landing.
Utah Bar Notes: That was one of Tiffani Lewis' better bar routines
because she hit her handstands quite well and nailed her dismount.
Way to go Lauren Wong in your Ute scoring debut. Freshman joined
the team just two months ago and looked like a veteran up there.
Deduction came on slight step on dismount. MaKenna Merrell-Giles moved right through that routine. Nice
handstands, release, swing and stick. Missy Reinstadtler had no problems with that routine at all after
a shaky warm up. Nice handstands, good movement and stuck
landing. Kari Lee had a really nice routine other than her arm was
bent a little on her shootover (thanks Jen White!) and a small
step on the landing.
Really pretty routine by MyKayla Skinner. Don't let the lack of 9.90 scores
fool you. That was a really good bar set for Utah and Skinner's routine
rocked.
Â
Utah Beam Notes: Give Maddy Stover credit for never giving up on that one.
She had some issues throughout but managed to squeeze in a re-do or two that
were an improvement on the first try.
That was one of the best routines I've seen from MaKenna Merrell-Giles.
Really a beauty. She was poised throughout with virtually no wobbles and
great form. Stuck the dismount as well.
Nice job by Sydney Soloski in her beam debut. She replaced Alexia Burch in the lineup.
Alexia is out with an injury but will be back this season. Sydney had no big
breaks or errors and looked pretty calm up there to be honest.
Also a good routine by Kari Lee. Her deductions came on two small
balance checks. Missy Reinstadtler gamely stayed aboard but had a big balance check
on her front aerial.
That was simply an amazing routine by MyKayla Skinner. She didn't even
bobble an eyelash with all that difficulty and she nailed her double back
dismount.
Utah Floor Notes: For the most part, Tiffani Lewis had a nice floor routine.
No big mistakes or really even medium bad mistakes. I think her deductions
were a variety of small things. Kari Lee was low on her third pass, but the rest of the routine was
really nice.
Stunning routine by Missy Reinstadtler. Beautiful leaps, dance, clean
tumbling, great presentation. I thought she would score huge on that. Sydney Soloski looks like she's having an absolute blast on floor.
I love her tumbling, starting with that double layout on the first pass.
I can't tell you where all the deductions came from since I didn't see them. MaKenna Merrell-Giles couldn't quite contain her huge piked full in,
stepping out of bounds. Her other tumbling passes were clean.
Absolutely spectacular routine by MyKayla Skinner. That routine deserved a 10.0. It was
just incredible.
