SALT LAKE CITY – Both Utah diving teams will compete at the Zone E Championships with the goal of qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Action begins tomorrow, March 5 and runs through Wednesday, March 7 at the Douglas J. Wall Aquatic Center in Flagstaff, Ariz.Â
Competing on the men's side are seniorÂ
Nathan Makarewicz, Daniel Theriault and Jenner Pennock. The women will also be sending three divers,
Clare Greenlow,
Emma Ruchala and
Nicole Ford. Five of the six divers will be competing in all three events while Ford is scheduled for the platform.
Makarewicz, a Pac-12 Diver of the Week back on Jan. 29, will be representing the Utes for the first time after transferring from Princeton. The Salt Lake City native currently ranks fourth all-time at Utah in the one meter and sixth in the three-meter dive. Theriault and Pennock rank fifth and seventh respectively on the Utah career leaderboards in the platform.

At the Pac-12 Championships two weeks ago, Makarewicz had the best performance for Utah, placing third in the one meter. He also placed seventh in the three meter and 13
th in the platform. Pennock's best performance came in the three meter, taking sixth. He also finished 11
th in the one meter and 12
th in the platform. Theriault's top showing was in the platform with a ninth-place finish.

Ford will be the only Ute competing in one event but it is her specialty, the platform, as she ranks sixth in Utah history. Greenlow and Ruchala are both freshmen who will get their first taste of NCAA Zones. Greenlow ranks eighth all-time in the one meter at Utah and finished 13
th at the Pac-12 Championships. Ruchala is ninth all-time in the three meter for the Utes.
