FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – Utah diver
Nathan Makarewicz finished eighth overall in the one meter at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships this evening at Northern Arizona University.
Â
"Nathan gave it all he had today and I am proud of his performance and his season," coach
Richard Marschner said. "The results this evening were not exactly what we were looking for, but I know the team put in all the hard work needed to succeed. Sometimes it just is not your day."
Â
Makarewicz, who placed third at the Pac-12 Championships, turned in a score of 332.95 in tonight's finals but it was not enough to move him up in the standings after starting in eighth after the prelims. Freshman

th with a score of 268.55
Â
On the women's side,
Clare Greenlow (247.40) and

Â
"I want to reiterate how proud I am of these student-athletes because they need to be commended for their seasons. We still have one more event tomorrow with Jenner, Daniel and Nicole competing so it should a fun closure to the meet."
