Utah at a Glance
* Utah is the only school to qualify for all 37 NCAA Gymnastics Championships. The Utes are making a record 43rd-consecutive overall appearance at the national championships, including the AIAW years.
* Utah has qualified into the Super Six 20 of the 24 times since its start in 1993, including last April when the Utes finished fifth.
* Utah has won nine NCAA Championships and 10 total national titles (one AIAW). Utah has finished second at the NCAA Championships five times in the last 18 years—most recently in 2015.
* Utah was ranked in the top four in the nation all season. The Utes (20-4) won their regional and finished second at the Pac-12 Championship.
* Sophomore MyKayla Skinner is the defending NCAA co-champion on floor and runner-up in the all-around. She is a two-time Pac-12 and regional all-around and floor champion.
* Utah competes four all-arounders, all with career highs of 39.500 or better: MyKayla Skinner(39.775), MaKenna Merrell-Giles (39.675), Kari Lee (39.525) and Missy Reinstadtler (39.500). Skinner and Merrell-Giles are All-Americans in the all-around.
* Utah led all women's sports for the eighth year in regular season home attendance in 2018, averaging 15,139 fans a meet.
Championships Start on Apr. 20
Utah opens NCAA competition in Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis on Friday, Apr. 20 at 6 p.m. CT/5 p.m. MT. Competing with Utah in the evening semifinal are Oklahoma, Florida, Kentucky, California and Washington. The afternoon semifinal (noon CT/11 a.m. MT) features LSU, Nebraska, Alabama, Georgia, UCLA and Arkansas. The top three teams by score from each semi will advance to the Super Six on Saturday, Apr. 21 at 6 p.m. CT/5 p.m. MT.
Tune In
The ESPN family will televise every session of the competition live: semifinal 1 on ESPN2, semifinal 2 on ESPNU and the Super Six on ESPNU. In addition, all sessions will be streamed live on ESPN3. ESPN 700 radio will broadcast all sessions in which Utah competes.
2018 Utah Snapshot
Utah won its 28th NCAA regional title in advancing to the 2018 NCAA Championships … Utah, which placed second at the 2018 Pac-12 Championship, has won three of the last five Pac-12 titles (2014, 2015, 2017) … Utah is 20-4 overall and 7-2 at neutral sites … The highest ranked opponent Utah beat this season was No. 2 UCLA on the road on Feb. 18 … Utah has faced two of its semifinal opponents this season and is 5-1 against them (3-0 vs. Washington, 2-1 vs. California). Utah has never met Kentucky. Since beating Oklahoma at the 2015 NCAA Championships—where Utah placed second and OU third—the Utes have lost three straight to the Sooners (all at nationals) … Sophomore MyKayla Skinner, the defending NCAA floor champion, is coming off all-around and floor wins at the Pac-12 and regional championships. She also won bars at regionals. In her first two seasons, Skinner has five Pac-12 individual titles and six regional titles … MaKenna Merrell-Gileswas the 2018 Pac-12 vault champion and tied Skinner for the regional floor title … Missy Reinstadtlerwon the balance beam at regionals.
All-American Girls
Sophomore MyKayla Skinnerand junior MaKenna Merrell-Giles were named 2018 regular season All-Americans by the National Association of College Gymnastics Coaches (NACGC). Skinner earned five total awards—three first team (all-around, vault and floor) and two second team (bars and beam). Merrell-Giles was a three-time first-team All-American (all-around, vault and floor). Skinner has 13 career All-America awards: five this year and eight year last year (4 NCAA, 4 regular season). Merrell-Giles has six career All-America citations (3 NCAA, 3 regular season).
Winner Skinner
Utah sophomore All-American MyKayla Skinner, the nation's No. 2 ranked all-arounder, already stands second in school history in career all-around wins with 21. She has 76 total individual titles in her first two seasons, including 33 this year (nine all-around). Skinner is one of just two Pac-12 gymnasts in history to win back-to-back all-around titles at the Pac-12 Championship and the only one to do it in her first two seasons. She has also won two Pac-12 floor tiles (2017-18) and one vault championship (2017). Skinner owns Pac-12 records for most Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week awards in a season (7) and in a career (12), as well as most Pac-12 Freshman of the Week awards (6). She was the only gymnast to make the 2018 All-Pac-12 first team on all four events and the all-around.

Barring injuries, the only lineup position still to be determined is on the balance beam where possibilities for the third spot include freshmen Alexia Burchand Sydney Soloskiand junior Shannon McNatt… Sophomore Missy Reinstadtlerwill be Utah's first competitor at the NCAA Championships, leading the team off on vault. Senior Tiffani Lewisis Utah's leadoff on bars and floor while senior Maddy Stoverleads off on beam. Last in the lineup on all four events is sophomore MyKayla Skinner… The Utes have hit 278-of-288 routines, including 24-of-24 routines five times … Ute individual winners are Skinner (33), MaKenna Merrell-Giles (15), Kari Lee (4), Lewis (2), Kim Tessen (2), Reinstadtler (1) and Soloski (1) … Gymnasts who have hit every routine without a fall are: Skinner (46-46), Lewis (36-36), Stover (12-12), McNatt (2-2) and Lauren Wong(1-1) … Utah won five Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week awards in 2018: Skinner on Jan. 9, Jan. 16, Feb. 13 and Feb. 20 and Merrell-Giles on Feb. 6 … Merrell-Giles has both 10.0 scores this year for the Utes, receiving a 10.0 on vault vs. Washington on Feb. 3 and on floor vs. Georgia on Mar. 16. Merrell-Giles, Lewis and Skinner have all scored a 9.975 on floor—Skinner three times.
