ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. – The Utah men's golf team continued action at the Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships on Tuesday, completing the third round of action at the Rolling Hills Country Club.
Utah heads into the final round of the conference tournament sitting in 12
th place with a three-round score of 21-over par (371-345-370=1086) following today's third round score of 15-over par (370).
"We came out today and played good golf for the first nine holes," Utah head coach
Garrett Clegg said. "Unfortunately, we could not keep it going and fell apart in the final nine holes. We know we can play better than we did today. We need to regroup and have a solid final round to end the season, which I know we are capable of."
Freshman
Blake Tomlinson is currently in a tie for 33
rd place with a combined score of 2-over par (72-67-76=215). Tomlinson registered a third-round 5-over par (76) on Tuesday. Coming in behind Tomlinson in the standings, freshman
Tristan Mandur is in a tie for 38
th place with a score of 3-over par (70-71-75=216) following his third round score of 4-over par (75).
Junior
Kyler Dunkle shot 3-over par (74) in the third round of play and sits in a tie for 48
th overall. Dunkle has a combined three-round score of 4-over par (76-67-74=217).
The sophomore duo of
Jordan Costello and
Mitchell Schow are currently in a tie for 55
th place, each having three-round scores of 6-over par. Schow (81-69-69=219) notched Utah's sole round under par on Tuesday, registering 2-under par (69). Costello (72-71-76=219) recorded a third round score of 5-over par (76).
Rounding out the Utes, junior
Nathan Wunderli shot 5-over par (76) and sits in a tie for 71
st place with a combined score of 18-over par (82-73-76=231).
No. 23-ranked USC remained in first place following Tuesday's play with a combined score of 27-under par. No. 22 Arizona State (-22) trails in second place, Colorado (-19) is in third place, No. 8 California (-12) follows in fourth, while No. 17 Stanford (-11) wraps up the top-five teams in fifth place.
Washington State (-8), No. 28 UCLA (E), Washington (E), Arizona (+1), Oregon State (+7), and Oregon (+12) round out the teams ahead of the Utes.
