SALT LAKE CITY – Utah senior All-American track and field student-athlete
Grayson Murphy will compete in her final collegiate meet at the NCAA Championships, hosted in Eugene, Ore., beginning Thursday, June 7. Murphy will look to earn her second-straight All-America honor in the 3,000 steeplechase after finishing fifth at NCAA's last season.

Murphy qualified for NCAA's by finishing fourth in the steeplechase at the NCAA West Preliminary. She had a personal-best time of 9:49.50, lowering her school record in the event. Murphy finished second in the 3,000 steeplechase at the Pac-12 Championships and third at the Stanford Invitational.

Murphy's NCAA meet begins with the semifinals on Thursday, June 7, at 4:32 p.m. PT. The finals, which run on Saturday, June 9, at 3:54 p.m. PT, will consist of 12 racers, the top three finishers from each semifinal heat plus the next three fastest times. The meet will be aired across various ESPN networks.

Murphy has also earned All-America honors in indoor track (2017-18, 5,000) and cross country (2017) while at Utah. In addition to the steeplechase, she also holds school records in the outdoor (15:58.29) and indoor 5,000 (15:44.45) and the outdoor 10,000 (33:17.85) and ranks sixth all-time at Utah in the indoor 3,000 (9:29.71).

Murphy, who spent two seasons at Utah after transferring from Santa Clara, has competed in every NCAA Championship she has been eligible for with the Utes.

A Salt Lake City native who didn't run track until she got to college, Murphy originally began her collegiate career as a soccer player at Sweet Briar College (Virginia) in 2013 before enrolling at Santa Clara to compete in track and cross country (2014-16).
