SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah track and field program added another signee to the upcoming 2018-19 roster with the addition of Maya LeBar, head coach
Kyle Kepler announced this week.

LeBar hails from Spokane, Wash., and attended Lewis and Clark High School, where she registered a personal best time of 56.10 in the 400, which also ranked as the fastest time by a senior throughout the state of Washington this past season. She would go onto finish third overall in the 400 at the Washington State Championships, finishing in a time of 56.72.

LeBar also competes in the 200, where she tallied a personal best 25.04 in preliminary qualifying at the state meet earlier this season. She would take eighth-place overall in the finals with a time of 25.43. She also helped lead her team to the state title in the 4x200 relay, anchoring the squad to an overall winning time of 1:40.34.

LeBar was also a club competitor for Spokane Speed Academy, where she competed during both indoor and summer track seasons.

"Maya is a versatile sprinter who we believe can be a contributor right away. She joins one of the best recruiting classes we've ever had here at Utah. She has great potential and we look forward to developing her into a Pac-12 and national-caliber sprinter."
