The Utah lacrosse team opened practice for its inaugural spring campaign on Friday, Jan. 4.
"I love the energy," Utah head coach
Brian Holman said about day one. "I love the passion, the excitement, and you expect that on day one. I felt like they really were excited to be back, which was fantastic. We got a lot out of today. The biggest part for me was in the scrimmage, seeing the things that we did well that they grasped onto in the fall, and then the things that we didn't do well – our composure, keeping our cool – so those are things that we're going to work on. I thought that it was an awesome day one for a start.
"It's a process. I told our guys our goal this year is that we are going to stack pennies. I'm going to keep pennies in my office and every day that we get a little better, we're going to put a penny on the stack. Hopefully every single day that we can be together, we will get a little better in all areas. We have to work on all facets, so that's the goal. Through film, through teaching and through our practices, we'll continue to develop these guys the best we can. Attitude is everything and I've got a good feeling about this team, that the attitudes are right. If the attitudes are right, a lot can be accomplished."
