SALT LAKE CITY - Utah Director of Skiing
Fredrik Landstedt has been named the 2018-19 recipient of the Don Reddish Coach of the Year Award, presented annually to the coach of a sport other than football, men's and women's basketball and gymnastics who is deemed to have had the most successful season the previous year.
In his first season at Utah, Landstedt led the Utes to the 2019 NCAA Championship.
Julia Richter won the NCAA title in the 5-km freestyle and eight skiers combined for 12 All-America honors with five podium finishes at the meet. Utah won four of five RMISA meets held during the regular season, including the NCAA Regional/RMISA Championship. Off the field,
Julie Mohagen was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Division I At-Large first team.
Landstedt has won NCAA Championships at three different schools (Utah 2019; New Mexico 2004; Colorado 1995) over 27 years of college ski coaching.
Reddish coached the men's swimming and diving team from 1949-90.
