SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Track & Field team qualified a total of eight entries into the NCAA West Preliminary Round, which will be held May 23-25 at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, Calif. The Utes will be represented by juniors
Sarah Newton (800m),
Sarah Feeny (1500m, 5K),
Bella Williams (5K), and
Poppy Tank (10K), along with freshmen
Brooke Manson (800m),
Cara Woolnough (1500m) and
Skyler Blair (400m hurdles).
Â
To qualify, Utah athletes had to be ranked inside the top 48 of their individual events to make it in the NCAA West Preliminary, which serves as the first round of the NCAA Outdoor Championships. From there, the top 12 will then punch their ticket and advance to the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Austin, Texas (June 5-8).
