Skyler Blair qualified for the finals in the women's 400-meter hurdles at the USATF U20 National Championships on Saturday.Â
Blair finished sixth in the second of two heats, but her time of 1:01.21 was fast enough to but her in Sunday's finals (5:07 p.m. ET).Â
Fellow freshman
Brooklyn James competed in the 800-meter event, but she finished 15th overall and missed out moving onto the finals. James registered a time of 2:16.34 in the first of three heats on Saturday.Â
The USATF U20 National Championships is being held at Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar, Fla., where temperatures on the track reached above 100 degrees. The championships are serving as the selection event for the 2019 Pan American U20 Athletics Championships, which will be held July 19-21, in San Jose, Costa Rica.
