SAN FRANCISCO - Utah's
Lizzy DeCecco was named the Pac-12 Diver of the Week by the conference office today.
DeCecco (Saskatoon, Canada) was one of several Utes competing at the Air Force Diving Invitational last weekend. The freshman recorded her highest score in the platform event, totaling 230.15 points (sixth-best score in Utah history) and placing third overall.
In the 1-meter the freshman totaled 229.65 points, placing sixth, a new PR, and in the 3-meter she totaled 254.20 points (eighth-best score in Utah history), placing fifth. This is the first time this season that DeCecco has been named the Pac-12 Women's Diver of the Week.
DeCecco is the first female diver to earn this award in 2020 and joins male divers Tony Chen (2x) and Luke McDivitt as honorees.
Charity Pittard was named the Pac-12 Women's Swimmer of the Week last month.
Utah heads to the Pac-12 Diving Championships in Federal Way, Wash., Feb. 26-29.
