Beach Volleyball Drops Duals to No. 11 Cal and UC Davis

BERKELEY, Calif. – The Utah beach volleyball team began its 2020 season at No. 11 Cal on Saturday, February 29.

The team began with Cal and then finished the day off with UC Davis.

In the second dual of the day, the Utes hung tough with UC Davis as three of the matches went to a third set, but the Aggies came out on top 3-2. Lauren Sproule and Jessica Vilella took their match in the third as well as Kinga Windisch and freshman Sommer Daniel. Windisch and Daniel fell behind before winning the final two sets.

Cal got off to a hot start and the Utes couldn't recover in their first match of the day dropping it 5-0 to the Golden Bears.

Utah will be back in action tomorrow to face Stanford at 12 p.m. MT followed by Hawaii at 2 p.m. MT.
