Day 2 of championships saw a school-record fall and many new lifetime-bests set.
SEATTLE — The University of Utah track and field team capped off the 2020 MPSF Championships on Saturday with a bang setting a new school-record during the last event of the meet in the 4x400m relay. As a team, the Utes finished in a tie for 11th with Pac-12 foe California, totaling 17 points.Â
The squad of Lauren O'Banion, Skyler Blair, Oneillia Fuller and Jackie Martin inked their names into the school-record books running the fastest time in Utah history in 3:40.39 to finish fifth against a loaded field. This tops the previous record by one second, which was set by this same squad at the Don Kirby Invite earlier this season. USC and UCLA finished first (3:29.92) and second (3:30.28) as both posted new Dempsey Indoor records during the event. Oregon finished in third (3:35.56) while Colorado just edged the Utes for fourth (3:39.64). Â
