Getting to Know Luke Welch

As we begin the lacrosse season, we'll get to know the newcomers on Utah's team. Today is Luke Welch from San Diego, Calif.Â
What is your favorite lacrosse memory?
My favorite lacrosse memory is being hurt all senior year, then coming back for the first game of the playoffs and taking the last seeded team (Del Norte) to win the CIF Division 1 Championship.
What is your favorite sport besides lacrosse?
Basketball
What do you like to do in your free time?
Hangout with my older brother Jake and little brother Nick, and surf.
Why did you choose Utah? What is the best thing about Utah?
What made my mind up right away was the outstanding coaching staff here and how welcoming the players are.
My favorite thing about Salt Lake City is:
The view of the mountains
What are your goals for this year?
My goals for the year are to play my role in helping this team succeed.
What is your major and what do you want to do after you graduate?
I am currently undecided. I am between Business and Communications
Where do you most hope to travel/visit?
Bali
If you could invite three people, dead or alive, to a dinner party, who would they be?
Michael Jordan, Kelly Slater, and my dad.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
The best advice I have received would be my telling telling me to always go 100% in every little thing you do, and if you fail, get up and try again
