FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - In the last event of NCAA Zones,
Luke McDivitt qualified for the NCAA Championships in the platform event.
The freshman finished fourth with the second-highest score in Utah history (361.65) and will join
Tony Chen in Indianapolis in two weeks.
"This was our best meet in the last few years and it was so much fun to see us compete up to our capabilities," diving coach
Richard Marschner said. "It is so hard for young divers not to be intimidated here but we had three different freshmen set new PBs this week, which is absolutely incredible. We had six divers make finals and were represented in every event. I could not be more proud of this team and their accomplishments. I cannot wait for NCAA's with Luke and Tony in a couple weeks."
Chase Hindmarsh also made the finals and placed 16th for the Utes. On the women's side,
Regan Caufield reached the finals and finished 15th after a score of 233.30 in the prelims, the sixth-highest mark in Utah history.
Next up for Utah Swim & Dive is the 2020 NCAA Division I Women's Championships, March 18-21 at the Ramsey Center in Athens, Georgia.
