Even without football games, there will be a lot of activity this fall at Rice-Eccles Stadium as work continues on the Ken Garff Performance Zone south end zone project. To give us an update on the construction time frame and seating options available, Sean Farrell, Director of the Crimson Club, and Austin McCormick, General Manager for Legends Global Sales at the University of Utah, join this week's edition of Utes Insider presented by Pepsi.
The podcast can be heard on iTunes and YouTube. All Utah Athletics podcasts will be archived here.
Â
The $80-million project, which will increase the capacity of Rice-Eccles Stadium from 45,807 to 51,444, includes replacing the current south end zone structure that was built in 1982. The new structure will connect the existing east and west sides of the stadium with a sprawling concourse, featuring additional rest rooms and concession stands. It will provide improved facilities for the players, coaches and officials on game days, as well as media working areas.
Â
Fans will also be provided with several premium seating options with a large number of luxury suites, loge boxes, ledge and club seating. There is also a rooftop terrace and club area. The entire project is schedule to be completed in time for the 2021 fall football season.
Â
The Ken Garff Performance Zone preview center reopened this summer after being closed this spring due to COVID-19. For more information, fans can log on to www.kengarffperformancezone.com or call 801-213-1192.
