SALT LAKE CITY – Utah's student-athletes broke the department record with their combined grade-point average of 3.441 for the 2025-26 academic year. That figure exceeded the record of 3.407 set in 2020-21.

Utah's 2026 spring semester average GPA of 3.465 ranks second all-time and marks the 40th consecutive semester with a departmental GPA of 3.00 or higher. The Spring GPA pairs with the Fall 2025 GPA of 3.418—which now ranks fourth all-time—to propel the Utes to their record full-year figure. The record GPA for a semester is 3.573 was set in the Spring of 2020.

The women's cross-country team, which recorded a fifth consecutive top 20 finish at the NCAA Championships, earned the highest team spring semester GPA of all sports with a 3.749. The men's side was led by the NCAA champion ski team for the 12th-consecutive semester, earning a 3.737 after posting a 3.621 GPA in the fall.

Other Spring 2026 Highlights
- 58 student-athletes earned a perfect 4.00 GPA
- 222 were named to the Dean's List with a 3.50 or better
- 388 made the Athletic Director's Honor Roll, 3.00 or better (80.5%)
Program-Specific Highlights
- The Big 12 champion women's gymnastics program has earned a team semester GPA of 3.00 or higher for 62 consecutive semesters.
- Men's skiing, women's cross-country and women's volleyball have earned team semester GPAs of 3.0 or higher for 36 consecutive semesters.
- Men's skiing (3.737) and baseball (3.538) posted program-record GPAs
- The Football program's GPA of 3.359 was its highest since Spring 2020.
In 2025-26, the Utes' athletics programs have continued to achieve at the highest levels, earning one national championship, four conference titles by three programs, and seven teams qualifying for the NCAA Championships or a bowl game—one shy of the department record with the year not yet complete. The Utah Ski team's national championship was its seventh in the last nine completed seasons.

99 current or former student-athletes who earned their degrees from the University of Utah over the past year. According to theÂ
most recent NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR), 95 percent of Utah student-athletes graduated within six years of enrolling. That tied the highest mark in department history (third time accomplished, and second year in a row), and extended Utah's streak to eight years of meeting or exceeding the 93-percent benchmark.
