SAN FRANCISCO – Four Utah volleyball student-athletes have earned All-Pac-12 Conference selections, the league office announced Monday afternoon. Seniors
Dani Drews and
Madelyn Robinson were voted to the All-Pac-12 first team, while
Stef Jankiewicz and
Zoe Weatherington were tabbed honorable mention honorees.
Drews has now been named to the All-Pac-12 first team for the fourth year in a row, while Robinson earns her second selection overall and first nod as a first-team selection. In addition to this year's honorable mention selection, Weatherington was named to the All-Freshman team in the 2019 season. It is the third-straight season Utah volleyball has landed two first-team honorees and two honorable mention awards.
Drews finished the regular season leading the Pac-12 with 5.24 kills per set and 5.80 points per set. She averaged a league-best 5.45 kills per set during Pac-12 play, as well as led the conference with 6.0 points per set since the start of Pac-12 play. She also finished No. 13 in the conference with 0.31 aces per set and No. 16 with 2.63 digs per set. She posted double-digit kills in 19 of 20 conference matches and recorded nine matches of 20 or more kills.
Robinson's selection comes after posting 2.92 kills per set in Pac-12 play, which ranks second on the team behind Drews. Robinson has averaged 2.95 kills per set overall this season and has totaled 310 kills. She has totaled seven double-doubles this season, which includes four coming in conference play. In her final season, she has recorded a career high in kills (20), a career high in digs (16) and posted a career high in blocks (5).
Jankiewicz earned honorable mention honors with just one season of play with the Utes after transferring to Utah this fall. She finished conference play averaging 10.99 assists per set, which ranks third in the Pac-12. She also led Utah to 14.50 kills per set in conference play to lead the Pac-12. She is second on the team in service aces and has totaled 1,036 assists to this point.
Weatherington finished conference action averaging 2.47 kills per set to aid Utah's outside hitters in offensive production. She also hit .257 in Pac-12 play. Weatherington has totaled 74 blocks, which is the second-most this season by a Ute. She has posted 261 kills this season as Utah's right side hitter and has reached double figure kills in 13 matches.
The four All-Pac-12 selections and the entire Utah volleyball team will open the NCAA Tournament this Friday, Dec. 3 against Utah Valley. The Utes and Wolverines will have first serve at 4 p.m. MT at Smith Fieldhouse in Provo, Utah.
