Meet Utah's Director of Student-Athlete Development

As we continue "The Team Behind the Teams" video series profiling members of the Utah Athletics family who support our student-athletes, we introduce you to Ashley Lear.

Lear currently serves as the Director of Student-Athlete Development and oversees the Ute Academy programming. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2003, with a bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology. The former Ashley Dryer, who is a Utah native, was a member of the women's soccer team during her four years at Notre Dame and played in the Women's College Cup (Final Four) as a freshman and sophomore.

Lear graduated from the University of Utah Law School in 2007 and worked in the athletics compliance office before transitioning to student support services. Ashley and her husband, Ben, have three children: Briggs (11), Sophie (9) and Davis (6).
