PHOENIX – The Utah Beach Volleyball team fell 5-0 to No. 8 Grand Canyon University on Friday, its first of five total matches against top-20 teams.
Sage Patchell and
Marissa Koch led the Utes in the first spot, falling 21-12 in the first set, but kept it close in the second before dropping it 21-16.
Olivia Teerlink and
Camille Lee also lost in the second set with a close score of 21-14 after losing 21-10 in their first.

Utah will take on four more ranked Pac-12 teams in Tucson, facing No. 18 Stanford (3 p.m. MT) and No. 1 USC (8 p.m. MT) on Saturday and newly added Washington (10 a.m. MT), No. 11 California (12:30 p.m. MT), and No. 14 Arizona (4:15 p.m. MT) on Sunday. All matches will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
