SALT LAKE CITY – The much-anticipated first opportunity for Utah Utes fans to tour the Ken Garff Red Zone at Rice-Eccles Stadium and kick off the 2021-22 Athletics year is just one day away! Saturday evening at Rice-Eccles Stadium the Welcome Back Open House begins at 5 p.m. when gates open, and features an appearance and interview with Director of Athletics
Mark Harlan, each Utah head coach and select student-athletes from each sport program, hosted by Voice of the Utes Bill Riley.
Fans will get their first look inside select areas of the spectacular expansion of Rice-Eccles Stadium, which includes the brand-new Utah Football locker room, visiting team locker room, Field Club, Suite Club and Premium Terrace. The Ken Garff Red Zone at Rice-Eccles Stadium will increase the stadium's capacity to 51,444 when the 2021 season opens on Thursday, Sept. 2, at 5:30 p.m., against Weber State.
TICKETS: The event is free, but a digital ticket will need to be downloaded to present at the gate for stadium entry. Your free ticket may be obtained by clicking on
this link. Fans are encouraged to secure their digital ticket online and download the ticket to their wallet on their smartphone. Step-by-step instructions can be
found here. All fans whose digital tickets are scanned when entering the stadium will be entered in a drawing to receive exclusive prizes, including a package of four box seats for a game (food included) and a Utah Utes Under Armour Swag Bag. Utah Athletics
recently announced the digital ticketing transition and several other game-day enhancements for 2021.
EVENT DETAILS: The Welcome Back Open House will take place on the concourse, field, and inside the Ken Garff Red Zone at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The concourse will be open to provide access to concession stands on the west side only, between Portal 6 and 7. The Red Zone Bookstore and promotions from Utah Athletics sponsors.
The program featuring every Utah Athletics head coach and select student-athletes will originate from a stage on the field and will be projected on the video boards and TVs throughout the stadium. A schedule of coach and student-athlete appearances can be found below. Fans also may watch the event program from the field level, but will not have access for direct interaction with coaches or student-athletes.
PARKING/STADIUM ENTRY: Parking is available in the West Lot free of charge. Fans will enter the stadium through the following gates: C, D and the Cauldron Stairs on the west side; and L on the southeast side.
